Clarice Starling, a top student at the FBI's training academy, is sent to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer. She hopes to gain his insight to help track down another serial killer, "Buffalo Bill," who skins his female victims, leading to a twisted psychological battle of wits.
